Briana Smith

Briana Smith is a Certified Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator, Placenta Encapsulation Specialist and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Her advanced training and certifications include When Survivors Give Birth, Rebozo Use in Labor, Postpartum Belly Binding Professional, Systemic Racism & Implicit Bias in Perinatal Health, and Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness.
Briana received her BS in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where her passion for maternal and reproductive health sparked. She went on to receive her MPH from East Carolina University.
She has experience supporting VBAC/VBA2C, high and low risk births, cesarean births, and families who have experienced or are expecting a loss.
Briana has extensive experience working as a doula and an educator in all of our local area hospitals, birth centers, and in home. She is passionate about providing evidence based, unbiased education and helping her clients to make their own informed decisions.
Briana sat on the board of the International Cesarean Awareness Network and is currently on the board of the North Carolina Breastfeeding Coalition. She is passionate about increasing lactation access in North Carolina.
Briana is empathetic and compassionate, yet she is also a realist. She hails from Western Massachusetts and loves the beach, exercising at the YMCA, and painting.
Thalla-Marie Choxi

Thalla-Marie Choxi (she/her) is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Postpartum Doula. She is honored to be the mother of 5 children including TWO sets of twins. She is very passionate about all things pregnancy and parenting, especially education in the early years and specifically breastfeeding. With the deepest personal understanding of how hard the transition to parenthood can be, Thalla-Marie meets clients with a compassionate ear and actionable care plans. She has been serving expectant and postpartum families for 12 years in various roles.
She previously enjoyed stints working in a Level IV NICU as an IBCLC, as birth doula and childbirth educator. These days Thalla-Marie can be found in the office with at least 3 beverages on her desk at one time. Thalla-Marie holds a Bachelors degree in Economics with a Minor in Childhood Studies from Rutgers University. She is New Jersey native but she loves living in NC.
Tara Duncan
Birth & Postpartum Doula

Tara is originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and has been living in Durham, North Carolina for the last decade. She is a birth and postpartum doula with 8 years of knowledge and experience. Tara recently graduated from NCCU with a degree in Behavior and Social Sciences, intending to become a postpartum therapist after graduate school. Tara has experience supporting lactating families, infants with reflux, premature babies, and multiples. When she is not busy supporting families in the Triangle, she loves to travel, volunteer, hang out with friends for game nights, cook and meal prep, hike, do art, and watch movies.

Marty is a certified postpartum doula and has been caring for babies as long as she can remember. She was also a career nanny prior to becoming a doula. She is a mother to two high energy boys! She has extensive experience with breastfeeding and babywearing. They love to be outside swimming and exploring When she has spare time she is passionate about traveling, live music and trying new cuisines.

Tiffany has been a postpartum doula and newborn nanny for over 11 years. She is a mother to 1 young adult and one high schooler, and she has 1 grandbaby (featured here)! She taught preschool and pre-kindergarten for many years before becoming a doula. Her background is in Early Childhood Education. Tiffany is passionate about supporting families during the postpartum period and helping them get adjusted to new routines that best suit their growing family! Implementing healthy sleep habits is her specialty. In her free time, she is currently planning her wedding! She also enjoys traveling, painting, singing, and attending Carolina Hurricanes games. She also loves to cook! She is ServSafe Food Handler certified and she offers postpartum meal prep services.
